Randolph-Macon Director of Athletics Jeff Burns has announced the hiring of Kelsey Goodman to take over the women’s volleyball program in January 2025.
Goodman is no stranger to the ODAC, coming to Ashland following a one-season stint in Greensboro at Guilford College. She led the Quakers to a 13-13 overall record and a 7-5 record in ODAC play, closing the season by winning 10 of their final 13 regular season contests. The Quakers produced a second team All-ODAC and a third team All-ODAC recipient in 2024.
Prior to her time in Greensboro, Kelsey spent two years as the First Assistant and Recruiting Coordinator at Division I Seton Hall University. While working with the Pirates, Goodman organized recruiting visits and coached the libero position, leading to three Big East Freshman of the Week, one Big East Offensive Player of the Week, and eight Big East Honor Roll awards.
Goodman also spent a season as the head coach at Mitchell College in 2021 where she led three NECC Players of the Week, one All-NECC selection, eight NECC All-Academic selections, 11 Dean’s List members, and one commendable scholar. Her coaching career began in the ODAC at Randolph College as an assistant coach for two seasons.
Kelsey played in 92 matches in her four-year career at Roanoke College. In her senior year, she was named team captain and helped lead the Maroons to a 17-10 record.
Goodman graduated from Roanoke College in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education. She received her master’s degree in Sport Management from Liberty University in 2021.
